2025 CrossFit Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals

The 2025 CrossFit Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals are an exciting new phase for athletes advancing directly from the Open.

Here’s everything you need to know to be ready for this critical stage of competition.

In-Affiliate Semifinals details

Competition Dates: Thursday, May 1 at 12 p.m. PT to Sunday, May 4 at 5 p.m. PT
Leaderboard Finalization: No later than May 19, 2025
Registration Opens: Monday, April 14 at games.crossfit.com
Registration Fee: $100 USD per athlete
Athletes must accept their Semifinal invitation and complete registration before submitting any scores.

Qualification Criteria

Athletes eligible for the Individual Semifinal must have:

  • Finished in the top 1% of their division in the Open (or be among the top 1,200 athletes, whichever is greater)

Judging and Video Requirements

Athletes are required to submit videos for all workouts.

Video submissions must be uploaded to YouTube and set to "public." No private or edited videos are accepted.

Each score submission must include a corresponding video link.

Athletes must complete their workouts at an affiliate with:

  • A Head Judge who holds a current L1/OL1 certificate
  • A Floor Judge who holds a current L1/OL1 certificate and has completed the 2025 Judges Course and the Advanced Judges Course

Both judges' names must be provided when submitting scores.

Format & Workouts

Workout 1

As many rounds and reps as possible in 15 minutes of:
3 muscle-ups
3 back squats
30-foot handstand walk (15 feet out and back)
*Add 3 reps to the muscle-ups and squats every round.

Dumbbell overhead walking lunges
GHD sit-ups

For time:
30 snatches

For total reps, every 2 minutes for 5 rounds, complete:
10 50-foot shuttle runs (25 feet out and back)
10 clean and jerks
Max lateral burpees over the bar in the time remaining
*Rest 1 minute between rounds.

1,000-meter row
30 toes-to-bars
6 rope climbs to 15 feet

Workouts will be completed over one weekend.

The exact number and details of the workouts will be announced prior to May 1.

Late score submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Scoring and Leaderboard

All Open rankings reset for Semifinals.

Athletes will earn points based on their placement in each workout (lowest points = better rank).

Ties are broken by the highest single workout finish.

Scores and videos will be publicly viewable after the competition closes.

Advancement to the CrossFit Games

The number of athletes advancing to the Games will be based on the total number of qualifiers allocated minus those who qualified through live events.

CrossFit will confirm the specific number before Semifinals start.

If an athlete declines their Games invitation, CrossFit does not plan to backfill that spot.

Final Notes

It is the athlete's responsibility to ensure compliance with all competition, judging, and video standards.

Submitting unviewable or improperly formatted videos can result in a score of "0" for that workout.
