Online Semifinals: Who Competes and When

Not every athletecan fly to another continent for a competition. That’s where the onlineSemifinals come in. Four online events run alongside the in-person calendar andoffer the same Games-qualifying opportunities:

•      Age-Group Online Semifinals— 7–11 May | For Teenagers (14–15, 16–17) and all Masters divisions (35+). Top finishers earn Games spots.

•      Adaptive Online Semifinals— 14–17 May | Run by WheelWOD. For adaptive athletes who qualified through the Adaptive Open.

•      Team Online Semifinals —4–8 June | For all qualifying teams. Workouts done at your own gym, judged and submitted online.

•      Individual Online Semifinals — 11–15 June | 7 men and 7 women earn Games spots this way. The last individual qualifier on the season calendar.

What’s New in 2026

The 2026 season brings some meaningful changes to the Semifinals structure worth knowing:

•      Masters and Teams now have live Games-qualifying opportunities at in-person Semifinals for the first time, giving those athletes a real stage to compete on rather than just an online event.

•      The Adaptive division is being run by WheelWOD (Wheel Adaptive CrossFit Games), signalling a commitment to growing and professionalising the adaptive competition pathway.

•      The geographic spread is wider than ever — with events in South Korea, South Africa, Brazil, Australia,Spain, and France alongside the traditional US-heavy calendar.
